This lesson covers the basics of windsurfing: windsurfing theory, practice on our simulator, rigging, tacking, jibing, and one-on-one time on the water. (approximately 3 hours)
Cost: $85/person. Maximum of two people per lesson (if you’d like to learn with a friend).
   Includes all equipment, rental of the board and sail, and instructor fees. Wingra Boats provides you with all equipment you need to get out and be safe on the water.
   Sailing lessons are not required for windsurfing lessons, but are strongly recommended. Learning to windsurf with no sailing theory can be frustrating.

Learn to Sail!

Basic Sailing (approx. 3 hours)
Group lessons Saturdays 3pm* (max 4 people)
Certifies you to sail Butterflies. This basic lesson goes over theory and rigging on land. On the water practice tacking, jibing, and righting a capsized Butterfly.
Cost: Group lessons - $60/person
Private one-on-one lessons by appointment - $85

Sloop Sailing (approx. 1.5 hours)
Lessons by appointment only.
Prerequisite: Basic sailing lesson.
Certifies you to sail our sloops and daysailers. This advanced lesson covers sailing with a jib, fixed keel vs. centerboard boats, rigging differences between boats, performing a controlled jibe, and pier approach practice.
Cost: $45

Catamaran Sailing: (approx. 1.5 hours)
Lessons by appointment only.
Prerequisite: Sloop sailing lesson.
Certifies you to sail our catamarans. This advanced lesson covers the basics of cat sailing, how it differs from sloop or small craft sailing, controlled jibes in a cat, and pier approach practice. We’ll also go over how to right a capsized catamaran.
Cost: $45

Offered for basic, sloop, or catamaran sailing.
Sailed in the past? Feel as though you might need a brush-up on the techniques before going out on your own? These refresher lessons are perfect for you. We offer a shortened version of each of the three lessons - choose from basic, sloop, or catamaran sailing - to remind you of the basic theories and get you some guided practice to rebuild confidence.
