Camp Wingra Sampler

Start your summer off right with a three-day sample of all the activities Wingra Water Camps has to offer – boating, fishing, paddleboarding, and more!

Wingra Water Camp Grades 4 to 8

This “do it all’ camp focuses on many different boat skills and activities. Campers learn paddle strokes, techniques, and safe boating practices. Plan on having fun on the water while exploring Lake Wingra as well as its lagoons and springs!

Canoe & Kayak Camp Grades 5 to 8

Expand on your paddling knowledge and learn necessary skills to take a canoe trip. Skills include capsizing, compass orienteering, portaging, and severe weather survival. Build endurance, teamwork, and expertise while having fun and exploring.

Stand Up Paddle Board Camp NEW! Grades 5 and Up

Learn the NEW sport of “SUP” from our experienced instructors who will teach the skills needed to explore and navigate the water while paddling a “surfboard”. This is the fastest growing water sport, and a blast for everyone!

Advanced Excursion Camp Grades 5 to 8

Put your skills to work as we canoe 7 lakes in 5 days! Each day we paddle a new stretch of the Yahara Waterway starting where we left off the day before. We will paddle Wingra, Monona, Mendota, Upper Mud Lake, Waubesa, Lower Mud Lake and Kegonsa. Have a great time as you learn about yourself and the value of teamwork on this real canoe trip.

Campers must be competent (somewhat experienced) paddlers & physically able to paddle 9am-3pm each day (with breaks). Parents must be willing to pick up & drop off at a different site each day. Carpooling is encouraged! If you have any questions, please contact us.

Fishing Camp Grades 3 to 5

Spend a week fishing! Learn the art of fishing from two instructors who will guide and teach the best methods for fishing from shore and from boats. Fishing poles and live bait will be provided, or you can bring your own.

Advanced Fishing Camp Grades 5 to 8

This camp is for older campers wanting to learn more about fishing. Instruction will include fly fishing, reading weather and water conditions, behavior of game fish, and possible excursions to different lakes depending on weather.

Wingra Science Camp – BRAND SPANKIN’ NEW!

Lake Wingra is an amazing place to explore and learn! This week-long exploration will focus on the Lake Wingra watershed, the threats of invasive species, and how people interact with and affect our common resource. THIS CAMP IS FOR CAMPERS INTERESTED IN SCIENCE, LEARNING, AND EXPLORATION.
